My supernatural experience after watching K-pop demon hunters

After begging me for weeks I finally decided to watch K-pop demon hunters with my kids. I feel compelled to share what happened afterward. This isn’t a post from a mom who shuns anything with “magic” or that isn’t Christian, its simply to share of my actual demonic experience after watching this movie, and what the Holy Spirit revealed to me. As well as the importance of prayer and discernment regarding what we allow into our lives. To prove my point, Harry Potter has always been one of my favorite movies and I also love the books. My kids do as well. Last year while at Harry Potter world I was in line for the ride the forbidden journey, and started talking with God about it all. I felt like He was asking me if He told me to stop watching the movies would I obey? To be honest with you, this was hard for me to answer at first, but eventually I said you know what? Yes, I would obey… Not sure I really meant it. I then started praying and asking God if it was okay for us to engage with it. I came to the conclusion that it was. On the very next ride, flight of the hippogriff, my child looked up at me and out of virtually nowhere said, “Mom, if God asked you to stop watching Harry Potter would you obey?” I was blown away! First of all my conversation with God on the prior ride had all happened in my head, nobody heard a word of it. So this was a divine situation. I smiled at her and said, “yes, I absolutely would.” After this I made it a point to seek God on the issue through prayer, and concluded there was nothing to be concerned about with Harry Potter, never once had we come under any oppression from it. God was dealing with my heart on this issue. I’m sure some of you reading are judging me, and that’s okay! That is your right to do so. I encourage you to make sure you are seeking God on these matters, rather than following what others say or living in fear. This will matter greatly to your children as well, as saying no without a valid reason, without truly seeking God, will put a big unnecessary wedge between you. If you are irritated with me about the Harry Potter situation, please just keep reading anyway.

Back to my story of K-pop demon hunters. I gave in and we watched it. To be honest, I really didn’t pray about it much even though I should have and I said yes because all their friends had seen it and they wanted to as well. Afterward my kids wanted to listen to all the songs and were singing them almost continually.

Before I share this next part I want to inform you that I have the gift of discerning of Spirits as mentioned in the Bible. I have had many supernatural experiences, have helped many people who have been severely oppressed by the demonic. I have seen and experienced many demonic situations. This will probably seem weird to some reading, but it is the reality of the world we live in and as Christian’s we cannot afford to be ignorant about it anymore. With that being said, I follow the Bible regarding the demonic and I do not follow strange ungodly unbiblical doctrines.

About two nights later I went to sleep. While falling asleep I sensed many evil spirits in my room and felt extremely oppressed. I prayed as much as I could, but was so tired I fell asleep without having gained victory over what was there. In the middle of the night I woke up from the second most terrifying demonic dream I have ever had in my life. I was sweating and terrified, I opened my eyes to see many demons in my bedroom. I hadn’t experienced this in my own home for quite a while, and was extremely frustrated. I asked the Holy Spirit why this was happening, and He immediately revealed that it was because of watching K-pop demon hunters. I prayed as much as I could, and again because I was so tired, fell asleep having not gotten rid of the demons that were coming at me. Once again, I experienced one of the most tormenting dreams I have ever had. The next morning I asked God to confirm this K-pop demon hunters situation because I never want to be the parent who jumps to conclusions and tells my kids no without a real reason. I reached out to a friend and shared what had happened. Turns out the EXACT same thing happened to her after she allowed her kids to watch the movie. This was the confirmation I needed.

That day I got on my knees, repented for watching it, renounced whatever darkness I gave access to my home, and felt all the evil leave me immediately. I had total peace and slept great that night, and every night since. I told my kids what had happened, and they all agreed it was best not to watch it again or listen to the music. They were annoyed with the situation, but not with me because they understand spiritual darkness and the importance of obeying God in these kinds of situations. Again, this is why it it’s important to seek God on these kinds of things and not just say no because everyone else is. This will build resentment and rebellion.

So why did this happen? Here’s the thing, many could argue there is a good message in the movie of light vs darkness, good vs evil etc. and they would be right. But the truth is none of that matters. The only thing that matters is this, is there a demonic attachment to this specific movie, and will watching it give the enemy access to me, my home, and my children? That is all that matters. I want to point out that one of the women who recorded the song Golden claimed that while recording she saw a ghost in a cloak. Listen, if you are a Christian then you have to believe that when you see a “ghost” this is actually a demon. What God taught me a long time ago is that it isn’t necessarily about the content of a movie, songs, event etc., although there are some things that are truly just ungodly and we shouldn’t take them in, but it is about whether or not the devil and his demons were involved in their production. For example, many artists and movie makers over the years have literally claimed they were given inspiration and guidance by actual demons. When you take part in these things you are giving these demons access to your life. These things are real, I have seen it time and time again and have helped many gain freedom, and again, Christian’s cannot afford to live in spiritual ignorance. I could tell you stories for weeks on end.

Call me weird, that’s okay and that’s your right. I have accepted that I’m weird a looong time ago. But me being weird doesn’t change that this stuff is absolutely real. Honestly, can you find anything in the Bible that doesn’t sound weird? You have to ask yourself whether or not you really believe the Bible, and whether or not you’ve thrown out the things in the Bible that seem strange. We just simply cannot do this.

Nothing in this post is to shame anyone. After all, I let my kids watch it. I simply felt God wanted me to share this experience as it might help somebody else. So what do you do? It’s very simple and doesn’t require any rituals or unbiblical practices. Repent, turn from what you allowed in, rebuke it, submit to God, resist the Devil and he will flee. Pray over your children’s minds, tear down any strongholds or intrusive thoughts or imaginations that came in through watching this movie, as we are instructed in 2 Corinthians 10:4-5. Then stop partaking in it. Simple as that.
